I Robbed the Woods Analysis

Poem 41
I robbed the Woods --
The trusting Woods.
The unsuspecting Trees
Brought out their Burs and mosses
My fantasy to please.
I scanned their trinkets curious -- I grasped -- I bore away --
What will the solemn Hemlock --
What will the Oak tree say?
Analysis:
Poem 41: The tone of this poem makes me feel sad because it shows a dark side most of us have. Woods in the forest stand for the good source most of us want. They are like money, entertainments, benefits and so on. We just know how to be selfish and rob those things from society or others. We don't know pay back because we are ungrateful. I also think it may tell us what the war is. This poem can be used to explain that the war is an action of the imperious countries who try to concur others and get as much "treasures" as they can.
