Virgin Mobile New Big Rock: Motorola Triumph. Hands On Review
10:50 AM
Unknown
Yesterday, I went to Bestbuy to switch my old Android phone(Samsung Intercept) to Motorola Triumph. Some people may want to know how I can switch my phone. It's not hard: when I bought Samsung Intercept, I bought the 2-year insurance for around 40dollars. When the new phone come out, I went there and said the Intercept was very slow and junky which is totally true... I don't want this phone anymore and then I ask them for a different one, the Motorola Triumph.
The reason why I want Motorola Triumph is because it has superfast 1Gz CPU, 5mp camera, front-facing camera, 720 HD camcorder with HDMI output too. And it's from Virgin Mobile, my monthly plan now is 25dollars: 300minutes talk, unlimited internet and text. I don't think they will switch me to the new 35dollars plan because I'm a old customer.
Review: When I used Google Map on Intercept, Intercept will be very very slow, and sometimes shutdown itself and turned on for around 5minutes. It was tally waste time and annoy. Sometimes, when somebody called me, I can't reply to them because when I pushed the reply button, the phone didn't respond anything... Furthermore, the screen is very small and the quality of the image is >_<(Hurt my eyes a lot). Although I have upgraded it to Android 2.2, it still can't play flash... I really think it's a failure in Android history
But Triumph is superfast, it's may be even faster than Galaxy I9000(When I was in China, I used Galaxy). It respond very quickly. It will not waste your time but save time(Android smarphones real job). The screen is awesome, although it's not Super AMOLED as Galaxy, it's good enough to surf internet, read news, watch movie. The UI sense is from stock Android 2.2. The UI doesn't look very cool as HTC's, but it makes triumph respond superfast. I don't think I will go to install a custom ROM for it. I just want it to be fast L0L.The screen just has the right size for me. 4.1inches is not too big or too small. If it's too big, it will be hard for me to hold or text to others with just one hand. If it's too small just like Intercept, it will hurt my eyes a lot... In the instruction of Triumph, you will notice that Triumph has a 5mp camera. To be honest, the 5mp camera is not that good as many people think. I can't take really good photos from the 5mp camera. I recommend you that you'd better use your digital camera to do this job... If you go to the Virgin mobile official site to see the 360 degrees review HERE, you'll find there are 3 buttons on the sides of Triumph. The one on the left side is "OFF/ON and Sleep" button. The two on he right is for volume. If it has one for camera, it will be better. The quality of the sound may be better than my iTouch lol. Furthermore, the out put HDMI is pretty useful for my class.
I have posted my screenshot below. I don't know if I need to write a review about some cool APPs in my phone. If you guys have any question, please leave it below.

Student Club: 3 Idiots Short Review(the Greatest Movie Ever)
7:44 AM
Unknown
It's a movie from India and it was made in 2009. You can think it's a comedy. But I'd rather think it's a tragedy showed in funny way. It's not a simple action or comedy movie, so it's very hard for us to know what this movie is talking about from the trailer.
The movie shows people how terrible the education is. Students can't really do the things they like and explore their value. The only thing they are thinking about is to be successful not valuable. When they were
born, their parents help them develop a goal for the children's entire life. In this movie, all the parents want their children to become the greatest engineer in the world because engineers can earn lots of money especially good engineers. For example, the fat guy in the 3 "idiots"(I don't really know how to spell his name in English because the movie I watched is in Chinese subtitles.) likes taking photos. His real dream is to become a photographer, but his father force him to study in engineer. His grades is always stable because he is the worst one and no one competes with him. He can't focus on studying engineer because his favorite subject is photograph. There are many other examples show that how sad the education is. Most of the graduates just care about money, they don't really care about others, they don't really care about what the true love is.If you don't think the education today is good enough, you really need to see it because you can find a solution from 3 Idiots.
If you have seen 3 Idiots, what do you think about them?

Review from Amazon:
So, what's a 47 year old doing reviewing a classic children's book? Well, it occurred to me as I was looking through the available books on my Kindle, that many of the free ones (yes I'm quite open to free as an option) that there were many books that I assumed I knew because I had seen movies, seen summarized in some other form or simply because they were cultural icons and "everybody" knows these books.
Many I have indeed read and did read as I was younger. However, now with a Kindle and a commute, it seemed a perfect opportunity to address some of those elements lacking in my basic reading. It was in this spirit that I down loaded Alice's adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll and read through it is a remarkably short period of time. Many of these free books on the Kindle, are in the public domain and have been available in text or PDF files for quite some time. A simple conversion in format is all that is required to make it available. The question I asked as I read the book, is does the experience of reading it in this format take away anything from the experience. Children's Literature in particular is often about more than just the words on a page. Of course there are often illustrations, the physical book itself takes on dimensions that are bigger than usual. This adds to the experience of a child reading the book by themselves but in particular it adds to the experience of a child being read to who can then sit in a lap or look as the book as presented and share in the experience by learning to read or reinforcing reading skills.
So, for a aging kid who needs something to read to round out his cultural iconic missing links this worked just fine. However, for those seeking to have an experience with their kids in reading a classic piece of literature, I'd not recommend it in that venue.
As to the story itself, there's little I can say. In some ways, it's like reading a familiar story but in others it's amazing how much can be lost or glossed over in the pop-cultural offerings that sprang from it. Reading this piece of classic literature gives you some insight not only into the time it came from, but also into the heart of childhood that is timeless and can be recaptured at least in part, if we'll pause and exercise our imagination.
4 stars. Absolutely 5 stars as far as the story goes. Because this specifically addresses the Kindle edition, a drop of a star so that any considering reading this to their children from a kindle, consider what might be lost by not obtaining a more traditional copy complete with illustrations and the opportunity to share at a level one notch above what the Kindle offers in this context.

Student Club: Finally, I Got My Adsense PIN. And It's Just a Beginning!
5:54 PM

Google, Adsense sent me the PIN on July 1st, and I received it today(July 19th). OMG, I can't believe how slow it is. However, I received it not like others who never received the PIN.
I feel very happy about it because it's my first income in America. I don't care how much it is. I'm just enjoying what I am doing. As you have known, I am just a student now. And study is the most important thing for me. But, to be honest, it's fun to earn money. I really enjoy trying many different ways to earn money. It's just like a game(some people think it's kind cold...)
There's around 100dollars left in my Account for this month, which means I can get more books or videos I like in the next month. I am tired asking my parents for money. I know they may have enough money for me and themselves. But when I ask them for money, I feel I am just like a flea. I really don't like that feelings. I have spent too much money in abroad every day. Many workers in China can't earn the same amount of money which I spend every year in their entire life. Once, I knew it, I try my best not waste money. I think the best way to save money is learning as much as can and earn money.
Adsense is just the beginning.
What do you think?

Student Club: What is Google+&Google+ VS Facebook&Funny Picture
8:20 AM

Google has again entered into the social networking game with new strategies. Google’s new social networking platform Google plus has been released as an “Invite only” release and this is a popular marketing technique nowadays to intensify the users’ urge to join while doing the beta testing with a limited number of users. I got an invite and explored it for a while and all I can say is Google+ is really cool. However, at this stage it’s very hard to predict if the Google plus vs Facebook competition will make sense. Because, social networking is a market that closely works on peoples’ psychology giving them a virtual world with an environment that they want. Google already has its social network Orkut, which has almost been ignored by many and it does not have any potential to grow. It’s still bit popular in India and a few other countries and it speaks all about it. Forget Orkut, even google has forgotten it now.
Facebook is the most successful social network in the internet history, unlike the other social networks facebook’s growth is solid and it keeps the platform changing frequently so as to give the people something new and keeping them busy with them so that they will not feel bored and think of going outside facebook (not for all but for the majority it works). Moreover facebook started challenging the other Internet giants who are/were not at all into the social networking business. Though google is still the largest Internet company, it has been affected a lot by the growth of facebook. How? Because google’s main income is coming from advertising (Google Ads) and after facebook started its advertising game (Facebook Ads) the advertisers have got another choice and the growth of facebook grabbed some advertising areas from google since the social network allows some kind of unique demographic targeting that a search engine or content network can’t provide. Still Google is bigger than facebook and the advertising market google has is much larger than Facebook but things can change in future.
Why google wants to get into the social networking business?
Search engines can’t expand their user-base in a bigger way like social networking platforms. If a person wants to search something on the Internet he will use google – that’s all (forget other search engines since they are too small compared to google). But the social network, on the other hand has a highly expanding user-base. Social networks drag the people into the virtual world and do the necessary things to keep them inside that virtual world for a long possible time while making them drag some other people too into this virtual world. The more a user spends his time on facebook the greater the money facebook makes. Today facebook has set many new standards to social networking and now facebook’s standards have become as the current definitions of social networking. Thus, google can not go away from the current social networking standards and eventually the Google+ looks like a facebook clone. However, one of the nature of the business world is “Copying from other successful businesses”. Facebook copied some core concepts of twitter too in their later releases and those features helped facebook to expand its boundaries even more. Due to these issues I don’t see the copying some features of facebook and any other social networks is not going to make google looks bad. It is just business and as a user what I only want is a social networking platform that gives me the environment I want. Still I don’t want to bring joindiaspora here as it has not proved itself in the real market yet, though some features of google+ reminds the joindiaspora (still it’s a beta) too.
The best way to describe an unknown is comparing it with a well known, let me compare Google+ and Facebook!
Google plus vs Facebook – My thoughts :
The pluses of Google+ over Facebook
- Google+ provides better privacy and well layered grouping – Circles
- Google+ does not have annoying applications like facebook (may be yet)
- Google+ combines facebook and twitter together when the main features are concerned
- Google+ is simple and sweet – May be just because it is new
- Google+ uses the google chat for chatting. It is much better than facebook chat
The minuses of Google+ over Facebook
- Google+ lacks some features that facebook has (Since it’s new and beta)
- Google+ does not have anything special for a typical facebook freak who does not care much about privacy
- Google+ does not have an own powerful branding as a social network (It’s a sub-product of google and not a mere social network brand like “facebook”) However, this is how it could be released because a unique branding is too weeker to compete facebook
In this post, we have complied a list of funny and extremely amusing Google+ vs Facebook images. Most of these images were shared by Google Plus fans who think that Google Plus’ elegant design and features is way better than Facebook’s UI and features and its worth moving to Google+ from Facebook.
