8, 9, 10, 11, 12 Dickinson Poem

I’m going to analysis poem 8 and 12 in my opinions.

Poem 8: After I read this poem, I felt Dickinson is very generous. Dickinson describes how generals she is by describing “forgot”. As she said it can bears a sword and pierce an armed man. When she is hurt by someone or something she isn’t very upset and tries to be generous and happy instead. The best way to accomplished this is trying to forget. I feel very energetic from this poem.
Poem 12: This poem shows how Dickinson loves autumn. We can know she is describing autumn from meeker morns, brown buts, fallen rose, maples and scarlet field. After she described autumn, she says she’ll put a trinket on. Dickinson shows her love in a lively and bright way. I can feel the love and happiness from the tone.

(1)Analysis of Dickinson's Poem

I have read the poem number 1, 2, 4, 5, 6
I’m going to analysis poem 2 and 5 in my opinions.

Poem 2: (There is Another Sky) This poem is about optimism. The “darkness” here means troubles and difficulties we met in our life. But if we are optimistic, we’ll never mind those darkness and go to see the other serene, fair sky and bright garden instead. We need to enjoy our life in a joyful way.

Poem 5: (I Have a Bird in Spring…) This poem is about optimism too. “Bird” is a metaphor which means her treasures. When her treasures have gone, she thinks they’ll come back to her again. She doesn’t need to worry those things which are not worth to worrying. All the things happened to her are natural logics. When bird is gone, the beautiful flowers Rose will appear. When Rose is gone, the bird will be back in spring. She regard everything she experienced is joyful and bright.

China’s Culture in Europe in 18 Century

In 18 Century, China was controlled by Qianlong Dynasty, and it’s a very prosperous time of China. Europe was very interested in China during that time and they were influenced by China in many areas, such like consumption, dress, literature, science and even education.
King Louis XIV admired China’s culture very much. And one day he hold a very fancy party, and he dressed China style clothes and sit down on a luxury Chinese chair. Everybody was very surprised by that. And this is just one part of the China fashion in Europe. King Louis XVI who likes China cultuer very much and sited in the China style chair with Chinese dress.

The missionaries in Europe who have been China brought lots of Chinese literature book to Europe. And they described China as a very great country.  Matteo Ricci brought “The Four books” and “Five Classics” from China to Europe. And his “the Diary of Matteo Ricci” describes the thoughts of China’s morals and religions. People like Matteo Ricci introduced China’s culture and influences to Europe. Then a great fashion of “Chinoiserie” appeared later in Europe.
After the Great French Revolution, French brought China’s imperial examination system to their government and education because it can make poor people become nobles.
